Privacy policy

The short version

VerseEmber has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your streaks, highlights, notes, bookmarks and plan progress are stored only on your device. We, the developer, cannot see them.

What stays on your device

Reading history (which days and chapters you read), highlights, bookmarks, notes, reading-plan progress and settings. This data is saved in the app’s private storage. If you use iCloud or Google device backup, your operating system may include it in your own backup; we never receive it. Delete the app, or use You → Erase all my data, to remove it.

Bible text

The King James Version and World English Bible are public domain and bundled inside the app. Reading them never sends a request over the internet.

Reminders and widget

Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. No push server is involved. The iOS Home Screen widget reads today’s verse and your streak from storage shared only between VerseEmber and its own widget.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Premium, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your card details. To check whether your subscription is active we may use a subscription service (RevenueCat), which receives an anonymous app user ID and your store receipt. It does not receive your name, email or reading data.

Sharing

When you share a verse card, the image is created on your device and handed to the share sheet you choose. We do not see what you share or with whom.

Children

VerseEmber is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
